"An EA insider has aired dirty laundry over what went wrong with Warhammer and what could this mean for the upcoming Bioware Star Wars MMORPG. Quoting: 'We shouldn't have released when we did, everyone knows it. The game wasn't done, but EA gave us a deadline and threatened the leaders of Mythic with pink slips. We slipped so many times, it had to go out. We sold more than a million boxes, and only had 300k subs a month later. Going down ever since. It's 'stable' now, but guess what? Even Dark Age and Ultima have more subs than we have. How great is that? Games almost a decade old make more money than our biggest project."

Im guessing its what is mentioned there, and the horrible billing problem that hit the subcribers

ReplyDeleteEA, things used to be so good!
Man, I how they don't give up on the Warhammer franchise. I've enjoyed most of their games, and I'd like to see them redo it right.
ReplyDeleteWAR sucked in beta and ever after... GOA totally ruined it, too..
ReplyDeletewarhammer was such a horrible game at every level, the execution was so terrible
ReplyDeleteDidn't play the game but I heard from others it was just so-so.
ReplyDeleteEA has only been getting worse and worse, they're also cutting down hard on game security
ReplyDeleteFor example, Spore, you can only download the game THREE times maximum from the CD to ANY computer, yes very stupid i know.
I still would like to see this done well. The first DoW was so awesome, in part because of the Warhammer mythology
ReplyDeleteI thought it was obvious that the game was rushed. Still mildly entertaining though haha
